Like many great adventures, Hatch of Heaven started with just a handful of backyard chickens and a growing curiosity about the incredible range of natural egg colours.
What began as a simple hobby quickly became a genuine passion. Every hatch brought something new to discover—another shade of blue, a richer olive, a darker chocolate brown—and before long, our little backyard flock had grown into a carefully planned breeding program.
As we learnt more about poultry genetics, breeding and bird welfare, our focus naturally shifted towards producing healthy birds that lay beautiful naturally coloured eggs. Each breeding pen has been thoughtfully developed, combining carefully selected breeds to create the unique collections that have become the heart of Hatch of Heaven.
Today, although our flock has grown, we’re still a small South Australian family farm with the same excitement every time we open a nesting box and discover another basket full of colour.
Behind every colourful egg is a bird with her own personality and story.
From our gentle Brahmas and curious Araucanas to our colourful Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers and rich chocolate-laying Marans, every breed plays an important role in creating the collections you see at Hatch of Heaven.
